Some of the best examples of multimedia storytelling involve mixing two less obvious content types. “The New York City Marathon By the Numbers,” a video package from The New York Times, is a great examples of how video, still images, text and audio can come together to tell a compelling story in an engaging fashion. On Nov. 3, 2013, New York hosted the largest marathon in the world. This video timeline is a quick, informative and entertaining way to learn about the marathon and how it has evolved since 1970. As usual, the NYT does not disappoint.
