The Washington Post got into the HBO show “Game of Thrones” with an impressively detailed and visually appealing illustrated guide to the 465 on-screen deaths that have occurred in the past four seasons. This is a wonderful example of data visualization combined with infographic. Each death is detailed with the who, how, why and where, and then each season was given a map that shows where the largest amounts of deaths occurred. It may be just for fun, but this guide is a great example for how journalists can use illustrations in order to give a lot of information about a lot of people in a manner that isn’t confusing or boring.
