Photo Story Exercise

Click this link to download a collection of 30 photos with captions and an Adobe InDesign template for a print photo story. Choose six images and captions that will comprise your photo story. Then, use the InDesign template to design a photo story. You are free to modify the InDesign template. However, if you are less confident about your design skills, use the layout that is provided. Just make sure you consider the sizing and placement of each image as you decide where they belong in the layout. Post your finished page in the form of a PDF file or JPEG image to your WordPress site.

Cropping Exercise

Click this link to download a collection of 10 photos. Using Adobe Photoshop, crop them as you see fit and save them as JPG files. Post the cropped images on your WordPress site along with the originals.

Linear Slideshow Exercise

Click this link to download a collection of 30 images with captions. First, edit the photos and captions to form a linear slideshow composed of 15 images. Navigation should be executed using simple forward and backward buttons. Also included in this package is a slideshow template built in Adobe Flash titled slideshow.swf. When you are finished editing your photos, rename them so that the file names are the numbers that represent the order in which you want them to appear in your slideshow. For example: 01.jpg, 02.jpg, 03.jpg, and so on. Your photos and captions will automatically load into your slideshow template. Post your finished slideshow to your WordPress site.

Photo/Audio Slideshow

Click this link to download a collection of 30 images with captions and five minutes of audio clips for each of two stories. For one or both, edit the photos and audio into a 90-second slideshow. Use the slideshow development program of your choice. Soundslides is a great option for beginners. Post your finished slideshow to your WordPress site.
